Wenatchee Valley Street Rod Scholarships
Three $1,000 scholarships were awarded to hospital employees from the Wenatchee Valley Street Rod organization in 2010. The three Street Rod Scholarships went to Jan Elliston, Aimee Gence and Jesse Hodges.
About the Scholarship
The Street Rod group is a guild of Central Washington Hospital. Every year the Wenatchee Valley Street Road organization works diligently to bring us the Apple Run Car Show which raises funds for scholarships for Central Washington Hospital employees. Proceeds from their annual car show provide funds for employees furthering their education in healthcare related fields. Employees receive grants to assist with their enrollment in work-related areas or for certification exam fees. Scholarships are awarded annually each spring.
Jean Wood Nursing Scholarship
Congratulations to Amanda Murphy, the 2010 recipient of the Jean Wood Nursing Scholarship. Amanda is a resident of Leavenworth and in her second year of nursing program at Wenatchee Valley College. She currently is employed at Mountain Meadows Assisted Living in Leavenworth.
About the Scholarship
The Jean Wood Nursing Scholarship was established through Central Washington Hospital Foundation in 2002 and annually provides a full-cost scholarship to a nursing student at Wenatchee Valley College. Jean Wood was a nurse for over 30 years at Rosewood and St. Anthony's Hospital in Wenatchee. She is a native of Chelan and together with her husband and son resides in East Wenatchee. Mrs. Wood was passionate about her nursing career and this scholarship is her legacy to encourage others to follow in her footsteps.
Central Washington Hospital Foundation Scholarships
Since 1987, the Central Washington Hospital Foundation has awarded over $500,000 in scholarships to employees for their continuing education needs. This scholarship program is funded through donations to Central Washington Hospital from our community and our generous donors.

Educational Grants were awarded to: Jonathan Bergstrom, Guadalupe Canchola, Jessie Cook, Crystal Fore, Sarah Gardner-Baker, Jennifer Menard, Lynette Newton, Danielle Northrup, Christine Redmon, Alison Smock, Juli Jacobs, Kate Carrow-Haugen, and Tyree Fender.
