Central Washington Hospital Foundation's Capital Campaign

The Central Washington Hospital Foundation kicked off our "Enhancing Health Care, Advancing Our Community" Capital Campaign in late 2008 with the family phase of the Campaign.  We were thrilled with the immediate internal response with our Hospital and Foundation Boards, Administrators, Employees, and Volunteers stepping forward to donate over $1 million!

Next, we reached out to our community and again the response was phenomenal.  The community sees the importance of this project and is lending it's full support.  Our local medical community contributed over $1.4 million, and the Wenatchee Valley Medical Center has shown it's overwhelming support with a pledge of $1 million to the Capital Campaign.

Other community highlights include a gift of $100,000 from Wenatchee Anesthesia Associates.  The Foundation also received significant gifts from the Eye and Ear Clinic of Wenatchee, Wenatchee Emergency Physicians, the Physicians of Wenatchee Orthopedics, the Community Foundation of North Central Washington, Cashmere Valley Bank, Washington Trust Bank, the Pauly Family, and the estate of Harry and Rita Askew.  The response has been amazing with gifts large and small too numerous to mention.

The Central Washington Hospital Foundation has worked actively to raise awareness of the many benefits of our hospital's expansion and improvement project.  This project means improved health care services for every man, woman and child visiting and residing within our North Central Washington area.  Our Community has stepped forward in an overwhelming show of support with total total dollars raised now at $3.4 million.

Our ultimate campaign goal is to raise $5 million to help offset the $150 million cost of this project.  We know our community understands the need for high-quality health care services and will fully support this goal.

We thank our donors and our community!

Honoring Harry and Rita Askew!

Harry and Rita

Harry and Rita Askew left England in 1979 and settled in East Wenatchee.  They lived quiet, fulfilling lives in this beautiful valley and are extremely grateful for the services provided by Central Washington Hospital.

Sadly, both Harry and Rita passed away in 2009, but their legacy lives on.  This humble couple graciously and generously donated 2.73 acres of land and buildings along the Columbia River in East Wenatchee to the "Enhancing Health Care, Advancing Our Community" capital campaign.  Their donation will greatly benefit our community and improve the lives of thousands of residents and visitors to North Central Washington.

We are extremely grateful for the Askew's gift and we honor their lasting legacy!  Harry and Rita may no longer be with us, but they will always be remembered and cherished by their Central Washington Hospital family and our entire community!
